Slippery Elm Bark

Postby buttgirl » 03 Jan 2008, 10:50

Just wanted to share--I don't know why I forgot ot mention this before, but I have had good success with Slippery Elm bark.
When my rear is burning and inflamed and sore, I drink a cup or so of this stuff. I usually put a heaping tablespoon in a cup and pour hot water over it. It turns into a cream of wheat looking mush. It is naturally sweet, but still tastes icky. Flavor aside, it really works to calm down my intestinal mucousa. I have to eat a cup of it though. The pills do nothing--there's not enough in a capsule.
I took some last night and the burning soreness that I have been dealing with since New Year subsided this morning.
