I got my fissure 8 months ago; it was in the toilet while pushing hard stools.
At the beginning I thought it was hemorrhoids and thinking so I spent 3 months with just a small pain on my bum. Then the pain became unbearable and so I went to a proctologist that put me on a diltialzem ointment. After 4 weeks of treatment, with the fissure healing nice, I had to stop diltialzem as I couldn’t stand the headache.
The fissure re-opened in 3 months as it was not totally closed.
Today I am just surviving, suffering while the fissure gets bigger. It bleeds every morning.
After reading the forum I realize Botox could work, but I wonder if it would be too late for Botox.
I live in Brasil where Botox is not a common treatment for the bum. My proctologist is not sure if a chronic fissure could be treated with Botox. So before I go to USA for a treatment I post the question here: IS IT POSSIBLE TO HEAL A CHRONIC BIG FISSURE WITH BOTOX OR SHOULD I GO STRAIGHT TO SURGERY??
I wish I have discovered this forum sooner.
Thank you.
