Yes, I am still having minor problems, albeit not as bad. They prescribed me some meds, and hopefully, I'll be on the mend soon and back to taking sitz baths for the AF. It's frustrating to have a setback.

I take diflucan (fluconazole) oral (pill) for 3-10 days, depending on how serious the yeast is messing with my body. When I get a yeast infection, it is pretty invasive. But then I am on daily cipro (prophylactically) for bacteria in my j-pouch (ileal-anal reservoir constructed to replace my colon removed over 11 years ago.) I tend to get yeast overgrowth in my pouch, which is small intestine tissue. Once a colon is removed there is nowhere for good bacteria to hang out anymore, as they are flushed daily from the small intestine. (Talk about TMI!) If you have not used an oral anti-fungal, you might want to ask about diflucan, which even comes in a single dose, or a 3-day dose.

The GP got the lab results back and confirmed it was yeast after the bacteria. I am just getting the jackpot of illness since I had my surgery... Anyhow, she did prescribe Diflucan, so I am feeling much better these days. I am thinking the yeast is what caused the rash, as well, along with just general trapped moisture after surgery. I am feeling better as the days go on, and hoping I'll have a good appointment in a couple of weeks.

Thank you!
