Just wondering, I have .2% Lidocaine & .3% Nifedipine, that I've been applying for 3 days now, about 3 times a day. Both bottles say for external use only. I think most of my so-called fissure is on outside, but if it extends just inside the anus a bit, will external application of the creams be absorbed enough to promote healing? Since the instructions say external, for now, I'm not going to attempt to apply them inside, since I wouldn't want to make any unecessary waves.
My pain isn't terrible thankfully, and is ONLY present during a BM, specifically when the stool first comes out, then I have lingering sharp twinges there for a minute or two, then pain-free. Occasionally if I contract my sphincter, I feel a tiny bit of irritation there, but luckily I'm pain free mostly, other than BM, and on scale of 1-10, that's tolerable, about a 5-6. But I still am getting tired of it, want to be totally pain-free down there. Maybe I just need to be more patient & wait longer for the creams to work. That's how it's been for me for the last 5 weeks or so. I have two skin tags, the pain area seems to be on the right one. I got some B6 Vitamin & Zinc tablets, hoping they might help too. Maybe not, but worth a try. I'm wondering if applying the creams on just the outside, will still allow them to be fully absorbed into the affected area, and promote healing?
Also, I had asked about Nifedipine, does it actually promote healing in the area, or just relax the muscles there? I've always been a quick healer, so I'm hoping this will go away soon.
