Oh man that sucks. I'm surprised they could just change things up on the spot like that. Sheesh. Hopefully the BOTOX will at least do something for you. That's just unbelievable!

I can't believe these CRS's you know, you were already in hospital and under anaesthetic? and all they give you was botox?? That beggars belief, even more so because you have 3 fissures, they really have no clue what pain and misery these AF's cause, i'm not surprised you wanted to hit the surgeon, it's just not right Image

Hey don't worry too much about the soreness. That's normal following BOTOX.
How'd the BM go? Hopefully not too bad :)
I don't think you'd necessarily have to wait 3-4 more months just because of the BOTOX. Unless they gave you a lot I don't think it normally lasts that long. Hopefully you at least get some measure of relief once the initial soreness wears off. BOTOX definitely at least gave me some relief although I'm not sure if it actually cured the underlying root problem.

Hey Kyriakos, how's it going today? Things any better?
I just saw my second CRS in two weeks today and wanted to say to not completely discount the BOTOX. Especially now that it's been done already, you may as well hope for the best, right? Anyway both CRS's that I saw had a look at my fissure and said it's nearly completely healed. They say my sphincter still has some tightness to it, but the fissure has definitely improved a lot thanks to BOTOX and months of nitroglycerin. That doesn't mean it won't re-tear at some point or that everything is completely okay again, but it does mean that you might at least be able to make some progress with BOTOX.
I know you're disappointed, and I would be too if I went in for LIS and didn't get it done, but just keep in mind that it may not necessarily be a total loss. Hope things are going better today.

hey neuropathicguy the botox has definetely kicked in...i'm not incontinent or anything but the muscle is definetely less tight...and i'm not having any of those killer spasms straight after a bm so the bm was a lot more pleasant this time Image still hurts because i have 3 fissures....but the botox is helping....i duno if it'll help them to heal completely....but i'm so glad for a bit of relief honestly :)
