Re: intro by newbie

Hi there, welcome on board! At least you have people who you can talk openly to now! It is a very embarrassing condition - although actually, once you start to talk about it to friends, I've found it isn't so embarrassing, although no-one really understands unless they've had one. Have you thought a...

Re: fistula surgery

I had exactly the same happen about 10 days after fistula surgery - it was an infection in the wound. If you can get an emergency appointment tomorrow with your GP, then they should give you antibiotics and it feels better after a few days. (If yours is the same, of course!)
Good luck!

Re: Re-tear 2 days after not taking Movicol :-(

Oh no Andrea! Oh poor you. I think it does remain very very fragile down there for months after it has supposedly healed. They do tend to come back again just when you think you've got rid of them. :( What do you mean, jelly?? Could it be blood clots?? Hope you feel better very soon xx http://r15.im...

Re: Quick help needed - bloating.

Just my opinion, and what would work for me personally.... I think I would use the diltiazem tonight and in the morning, and use movicol tonight and in the morning. But use whatever you used in the past that worked well. Actually, movicol might take a few days to work? Have you got any milk of magne...

Re: LIS and anal advancement flap 5 days ago (NHS route advice)

I think if you haven't suffered the pain of a fissure though, you can't possibly understand what all the fuss is about - after all, it is essentially a very small cut! If you had that size cut on any other part of the body and made a huge fuss screaming and yelling in agony, I think we would actuall...

Re: Next steps - views and advice welcome

It certainly does sound like a fissure! I would trust my own instincts, and try to get another opinion if it was me.

Re: LIS and anal advancement flap, My experiences

Hey Macie, cutting down on movicol 6 days out of surgery doesn't sound like a good idea http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/affraid.gif If it were me, I would go to your GP and see what he says - my opinion is that you could bulk up on fibre to make the stools bigger, but take the movicol so that they re...

Re: LIS and anal advancement flap 5 days ago (NHS route advice)

Yes, fissure pain sure is hell on earth! When I had spasms for hours, I couldn't do anything except lay screaming in pain and rolling round the bed - I know how you feel! And I used to want to die too - I was scared to wake up each morning, and got "bathroom phobia" LOL! I do think doctors should be...
