Re: Keyhole Deformity

I know this is an old post, but did you have any treatment to correct a keyhole deformity? I'm in a similar position. :(

Repair of anal keyhole deformity after fistula surgery?

... 2015 and I seem to have been left with a gutter/groove in my anal canal that leaks after bowel movements. Has anyone had any kind of repair for a keyhole defect?? My backstory: It was a shallow fistula with a longish tract so my surgeon performed a simple fistulotomy/fistulectomy (they don't seem ...

Alternatives to Metamucil that still bulk

... fistulotomy), but in recent months I have had issues with mild remnant liquid stool draining into the "dimple" (it looks like a small keyhole) for about an hour or so after every bowel movement. It is not of any medical significance (at least, I don't think it is) but it can be quite ...

Re: Fistulotomy scar tissue

... too healed completely by week 13. Now it has been around 16 weeks and it is just some tightness in the scar tissue and a weird kind of tiny "keyhole" looking groove at the point where the fistula met the rectum, but my doctor saw this and mentioned nothing about it, so I assume it is ...

weird tiny hole/groove at rectum after fistulotomy healed

... in the groove and there is no pain. It is very small and has caused me no problems, but I just want to know if this is normal. Is this the "Keyhole deformity" I've been reading about? It hasn't caused me any incontinence and like I said it is small, but I want to make sure no complications ...

Re: 3.5 months post LIS update

If I'm not mistaken I think anoplasty is done to correct a keyhole deformity. This does not involve cutting the muscle at all. I had LIS and 5 years later I had double advancement flaps. I'm coming up on my 2 years anniversary for the flaps surgery and ...

Re: 3.5 months post LIS update

Hi Suzy, thanks for your reply. A keyhole deformity was my first concern when I had leakage after the surgery. I think this may well be a contributing factor, since my anal opening is not the same shape that it was before LIS. There's a definite ...

Re: 3.5 months post LIS update

Hi, Worrier12345, I'm sorry you're having leakage. Have you asked your doctor if you might have what they call a keyhole deformity as a result of your surgery? This is a complication of rectal surgery and can cause leakage. If you go back a few years there was another member who ...

Re: Problems with my LIS

... you can't control. Untill you get your checkup in January, you can't be sure it's really as bad as you think, and even if it is a full-blown keyhole deformity, there are procedures to fix it, like Sphincteroplasty. Please do not give up, and remember you can choose your attitude! I'm wishing ...
