Hi all,

I had a sphincterotomy nearly 3 months ago for what my surgeon described as a fissure as long and as deep as they get. I am currently not healed and am due to see my surgeon again to book in a second surgery. I'm just wondering if anyone had advice regarding this? I mean, besides things still being too tight down there and the surgeon perhaps not having cut enough, is there any other reason why a fissure wouldn't heal after a sphincterotomy? I was reading a little about anal stenosis. Also wouldn't mind getting a manometry (pressure test thing) done if there was doubt about why it wasn't healing. I asked my surgeon why I hadn't healed and he said he doesn't know. It's perhaps worth mentioning that I was consistently constipated for about the first 2 months after the surgery.
