Setback

Postby Vin » 08 Mar 2013, 17:38

Well disappointed to report 2 of my external tears have reappeared. Very frustrating I have been being a good boy with my diet. I noticed while in the shower the all to familiar sting when the hot water hit the fissure area.
I truly am perplexed and disappointed. I have been on nitro .02 for the last 3 weeks and saw excellent results. I laid off immediately since I always got a headache and pressure when using it. In hindsight the headaches are not that bad compared to the ongoing fissure pain. I am guessing I got off Nitro to soon and hope it is not just another cream gone useless. Anyone else have insight on the nitro length use? I should know by the middle of next week if things begin to improve again.
I was in FL when the external fissures seemed to close up last. I wonder if wearing shorts and warmer weather contributed to healing. So damn confusing this fissure thing!

Did you swim in salt water? Salt water heals wounds.
I called another crs for a second opinion, because my crs wouldn't give me cream because he hadn't had luck with creams and other crs said that he puts people on creams for at least six weeks.

You need to use the Rectiv for WAY longer than 3 weeks. You can switch to another cream, but you need to assist your sphincter with these creams for at least a few months. When the fissure first heals, its only very superficial. It takes months, up to a year or so to heal all the way. So letting up after a few good weeks is like begging to have it back.

Coco, your so right, I let up for a few a week or two and quickly realized, it was a bad bad idea...so I'm back on the cream and crossing my fingers that I didn't mess up anything down there.
