Surgery Bound!

Postby Jessjess » 01 Feb 2013, 08:02

Hello and thank you for the support! Image I am a 42 year old female from Charlotte, NC.
This is a painful and terrifying experience and it is so awesome to read about other's experiences and get the support and communication that is so desperately needed! I have posted already quite a bit of info without introducing myself first. I couldn't figure out how to get to this screen. My apologies. Support forum world is new to me- love the emoticons- they are fun! Image
I am scheduled to have surgery on Monday for a chronic AF and removal of associated skin tag. I'm not sure if my surgeon is just going to do the LIS or actually remove the fissure as well. Right now I'm home bound for the most part trying to manage my pain and stay sane!

If mine doesn't heal I'll be doing exactly the same thing.
All the best for Monday. Not long to wait now before you are on the road to recovery :)

You'll be fine, I read somewhere it takes more time to drink a coffee.. in that respect it's a minor procedure.
Think of the new lease of life that will follow - that thought is all you need to get you through it Image

Thanks for the encouragement and prayers. Delasama, I could not wait to see the surgeon so I called and told them that I was going to head to the hospital if they could not get me in sooner than my appointment which was 10 days away. They called me that same afternoon with an opening. I had been calling them for 3 weeks prior to that checking on cancellations so they knew I was in dire straits and still am. My meds are not working as well so I am laying on my belly when I'm not in the bathtub!

Thanks PIA! :) I slept well with the help of a high dose of my presciption Seroquel (for anxiety and trouble sleeping). I read the Success Story by AF Angel- AWESOME info! So I will use some the diet methods to decrease pain as well as taking GAS-X to get throught the next 2 days.
I have to say, it is VERY cool to communicate with you being in Australia! Nice! Image
