New here, months in agony.

Postby mk87 » 26 Jan 2011, 14:31

Hey Guys,
New here, found this forum by looking for anything on comfrey etc, anyway.
2010 was a year of struggle, had a weird condition where i woke up with nausea. Couldn't eat, and then late at night i was all fine, could eat anything, didn't feel like i had to puke anymore.
I had this for months, a total of 6, 7 i think.
In august 2010 i started to feel better, but than the problems began near the backdoor, i think. Always had little tears throughout my life, but they always healed rapidly. Late August I was really burning up down there. Everything was swollen like crazy and i also felt this scar tissue kind of feeling inside. Which to date I still have. The doc thought it were warts, so i was given this stuff that burned my ass even more, next time i went back the doc believed it was a fissure, it should heal. Well it didn't, so i was given this isosorbidenitrate.
It relieved, but using it every few hours for a couple of weeks didn't help at all.
Im now using DrWheatgrass and as the nitrate stuff, it relieves pain, but im not sure if it's helping. Hard to tell really. I've had this since last year, so multiple months now....
What I have is a small lump, not even a lump i guess, it just feels not the same as the other tissue in the rectal area inside. It then goes from a little lump to something that feels like wire, somewhat of a scar or something. And that piece of scar tissue hurts the most.... Maybe you guys could tell me what this might be??
- No bleeding
- No constipation, but the rectal area can get swollen inside from time to time
- Feeling is gone when i wake up, but as soon as i have a bowel movement the pain creeps on me during a couple of hours
- Area doesn't get bigger, or feels any different as to august last year.
- Wire tissue / Scar tissue? Hurts the most when you press on it and against the sides. It feels like a muscle on a piece of chicken...
- Wire / scar tissue is on the bottom, near the outside of the muscle.
- Wound is near the bottom, 6 o clock.
- Wound is perhaps quarter of an inch
Im going to persevere with this wheatgrass, perhaps try comfrey and if that doesn't work than i'll go to a specialist.
Maybe it's not even a fissure, since my regular doc first thought it were warts and i was given wrong meds..... But i can't really tell what else it could be ??? Hem's don't have a little scarring/wire tissue on the bottom of it near the end does it ?

It's hard to get your mind off, pretty much with any condition i guess... i mean you get used to it being there, but it's always on your mind...
It's not like it's healing, or getting smaller, if it would than I would be ecstatic, but it's just there, painless one moment, painful the other.

mk87,
Welcome to the forum! Sorry you are having butt problems. I know it can be frustrating! I read your symptoms and was wondering if you have seen a specialists (CRS)? Have you had the shards of glass feeling when you have a bm?

Hi,
No i haven't been to a specialist yet.
BM goes pretty well. i mean sure it's not as comfortable as it used to be. Mostly the scarred?? end tissue hurts the most when pressured. But in overall it's more an annoyance than actual full blown pain all day long.
I however used to have a lot of pain in the beginning when everything was swollen and hurting. I couldn't sit.
Now i can do anything i want, it's just the end tissue that feels like a wire that hurts and there's this small bump of tissue that feels a bit stiffer than the rest of the tissue.
You don't think it's a Fissure?
Im not sure either tbh....
I think im going to my GP tomorrow and have myself reffered to a specialist....

Hi mk,
It's hard to know, but maybe reading about skin tags on this site might be useful for you? There's a recent post on them under the General Discussion...

Welcome!
Glad you don't have the nausea anymore! I once watched a TV show where a guy had symptoms like yours; it turned out he had a hidden food allergy to dairy. Ironically he also craved dairy, but once he quit eating it, he quit throwing up every morning. It's kind of hard to get tested for food allergies, at least here in the US. But that might be something to think about if you ever have problems like that again. Another possibility could be an IBD--a friend of mine has a daughter with Crohn's and her initial symptoms were vomiting but also with diarrhea. IBD's tend to go through flare ups and then remissions.
Now, your description of the 'wiry' scar tissue also strikes a chord with me. I have something that feels like that too, but I know it's associated with my fissure. My gynecologist told me it was just a hemorrhoid, but I wonder? Since it's just inside the area where I also have a fissure outside, I think it could also be scar tissue/hypertrophied papillae. It also has an area that's more tender if I press it. It doesn't seem to grow, or shrink, it's just always there. I've just about driven myself crazy wondering what it is. I'm scheduled to see a specialist next month so hopefully he can help me sort it out.
I've also been using the wheatgrass cream. It's no miracle, but it's soothing and it seems to help the small tears I sometimes get heal a little quicker. Hopefully you can find the help you need and start feeling better soon!

Hey there,
it's hard to say really. I had a skin tag w/my fissure. They resemble a hem, but mine never felt like you're describing Image
The CRS referral is the way to go. I went to several Drs. before getting the proper diagnosis from a CRS. Most GP'S don't know much about butt problems IMO.
Hope you get this taken care of soon. :)

Wheatgrass works soothing yes, better than the type of meds that expands the bloodvessels. The entire area is still there, along with the weird scar tissue, but i had little pain this entire day, with only having applied the wheatgrass once this morning.
Anyway, im going to see the GP tomorrow and have him refer me to a specialist.... not so much to get things moving towards anything like surgery, but more in a way to check if it's really a fissure and what the weird tissue is all about.
If in the end I will require surgery, maybe just for the removal of the scar tissue, than it will just have to be... I've been walking around with this problem for too long now..
