I survived. It really wasn't too bad to be honest. Best bit is they found nothing! They say it was likely a fissure that's healed, or a pile that's now shrunk. So relieved!

Tell me a few things about the procedure you did. Howvdid you prepared.... and what the doctor did exactly.


So J we have it both behind us now.... lets dont forget to be more carefulll.... lets take care how and what we eat.... and drink lots of water.... its over now but enough is enough and we both had enough.

I don't really know what they did, apart from have a look. The specialist said he'd take biopsies if he saw anything but the notes said nothing was found. The nurse said they'd done some stretching to try and loosen the muscles, but that was all.

It all went really smoothly, I've had no discomfort afterwards, and no bleeding this morning, which they said could happen.

I'm sure to follow the advice and drink lots and try and prevent causing further problems.

I'll keep an eye on the forum as I'm sure there will be hiccups along the way.

Setback! Bleeding again. Bah.

Dont let it take you down. I think you got a hard BM. Take something to make it soft and wet. I use duphalac.... I dont think you got ut in uk with the same name. Ask your pharmacist. Its Lactulose is a colonic acidifier that works by increasing stool water content and softening the stool. ... can send you more details.... if you give an email.

Main thing though.... dont get panic because now you now its nothing bad.... its only a woond which with some attention and care will heal.

Well, I've had a couple of months with no issues, and boy didn't I feel happy about that! I made a conscious effort not to strain on the loo, not to lift heavy weights at the gym anymore, and it seemed to be doing the trick.

But... That all changed on Saturday and I'm back to the bleeding after each bm.

A little back story here :

Friday night I had a curry. Now, this is risky for me as I'm lactose intolerant and the cream used in Indian dishes always gives me an upset tummy. Even so, my bottom had been on its best behaviour and I'd only had one day off bleeding this year so I felt confident I'd be fine. The following day I had to go for a BM 3 times before 5pm, during which the bleeding began. 3 days later and I'm still bleeding.

I'm trying to get to the bottom (no pun intended) of what actually causes the bleeding, as reading through my post op notes I see that 2 thrombosed hemos and a partially healed fissure were found. My stools are soft, so they probably haven't caused the bleed.

Does anybody have any theories on whether passing gas can start things off? I was very windy after the curry, especially on Saturday morning. Can the pressure make Hemos worse?

Reading back through my messages from lost year I can see no difference in what's happening now compared to back then, so getting not to panic.

Really thought I'd got passed all this.

Am sorry about that. But I want worry it seems thats nothing bad, is just that you have a sensitive ars! There are suppositorys I told you already about. They heal the wound very easy. If you can find them in your country then buy them.

Decided to have a look pre and post Bm to see when the blood actually appears. I noticed that blood was dropping before I actually pooped. That's isn't what I was expecting.

I'd the anus hadn't opened or stretched, yet there is dripping blood, does that suggest a hemo as the more likely cause?

Trying to see if hemo cream or the rectogesic is the better option. If it's a hemo that rectogesic won't help.

Trying my best not to worry, as I know I've been checked out, but I'm the sort of person who wants to know why things happen and how to stop them. I don't like not being able to fix it.
