Hi all,
Just did some research about fissurectomy that was performed during my LIS without my knowledge. It was definitely not necessary according to all papers that I read, , and when it is performed it usually includes removal of a skin tag or is followed by making "anal
flap". So, I have unnecessary , half finished wound to heal. It might need 10 weeks to fully
heal ...
I am writing this only to warn prospective LIS-ers, to make sure that their surgeon does not perform procedures that are not agreed on, and ask in advance about fissurectomy. If it happens that it is really necessary, count on longer recovery period regardless of what he /she says. You will have a wound in the place where healing is very hard anyway - that is why you have a chronic fissure to begin with
All the best
