Tear healing time

Postby Strangeworldaf » 05 Aug 2012, 06:40

Can you please share as to how much does it take to heal after the first tear and no bleeding after that. Let's say my tear happened 10 days ago and no bleeding since 10 days....

Hi,
At this stage, you have a great chance of recovery from the fissure but need to act quickly to ensure you do everything now to stop it worsening and to start it healing!!....
I'm sure by now you know everything you need to know to do just that (super soft stools) loads of water/ hot baths and the prescribed creams that can help relax your sphincter and aid healing. I used Aloe Vera straight from the plant on mine...My fissure started Dec 2011 and am pretty certain it had healed by the end of March 12. This was definately due to ensuring my BM's were soft and using Dilitizam cream for 7 weeks. I developed other issues in March (abcess and fistula) and stopped the cream at that point, where I realised I no longer had issues with the fissure. It was diagnosed as 100% gone in June whilst my fistula was being treated.
Hopefully, it won't take long for you but do look after it carefully in the meantime and adjust your diet and lifestyle long-term to keep it away for good!! :)
Chronic Fissure diagnosed December 2011
Healed by Diltiazem around Feb 2013
Anal Fistula followed burst abscess in June 2012
2 internal troublesome piles remain & suspected, but undiagnosed, ongoing Levator Ani type symptoms & flare-ups

Do all fissures who don't heal in 2 months turn into fistula?
