Fistula again - have you felt this?

Postby Sorebutt26 » 30 May 2016, 17:02

Hi

I'm new to the forum.

I had a fisulotomy in 2013. I'm back in in a few weeks to have it again :(

It feels very different this time. Down my left bum cheek, in the crack, there is a hard 'sore' core like bit. It feels like a twig or something. To look at, everything is fine. But it's so sore the sit and this hard core like thing feels horrible.

Has anyone else had this with a fistula? I'm assuming it's the tract? :(

Thanks

Sounds like abscess / fistula. I never could feel my fistula, but boy I could feel the abscess. Any sort of movement / touching where the abscess pocket was, was very painful. Not sure if what you are feeling is the fistula tract or rather part of an abscess as a result of the fistula draining.

It's an abscess!!! I went to see my surgeon this week. It's very large, like a golf ball. I'm in tomorrow to get it drained and if it's linked to my fistula I'll be getting a seton too :'(

Just a quick update. This is still ongoing. After 7 months of packing the abscess wound they agreed it wasn't going to heal. I had an operation to reopen it and also discovered a fistula. I now have a draining seton and a wound being packed. However the wound is now over granulation. Has anyone ever had this issue?
