Oh yes, and I am so glad it isn't that sharp glass cutting pain like before!

Well, yes she is right, you can't always rule out other things just because the blood is bright red. You just need to make it clear to everyone involved next Monday to look closely at where you think the problem is. They should certainly see it if it's there!

Yes, I will let them know what I'm thinking. I just hope they don't think of me the same way my former primary did. When I told him what I was thinking the problem was and asking about a couple of things I had read about treating it(because he wasn't giving me any suggestions or help at all), he told me "don't play doctor". That was the last time I ever went to him. I've been having fun with doctors lately. Just like most of us here have been.

GET A NEW DOCTOR!!!!
My first 3 drs, one of which was a general suregeon and 2 of which were CRSs, acted just like her. They did not listen to me and looked upset when I would ask questions or tell them "yes it does hurt." To this day, my files say that it doesn't hurt thanks to the imbuciles. They also are the ones who would not believe I had an infection and swore there was nothing abnormal until my abscess acutally ruptured. It was not until I got a CRS who listens that anything helpful was done, and that was just this past Jan after suffering for 2 years.
So get a new surgeon, one who listens and doesn't try to scare you. It will be totally worth the drive!!!!
And magnesium (AKA MOM) does NOT make the colon lazy, maybe after several year it might, but I stopped taking it after 2 years and am just fine. In fact, my CRS and GI saw nothing wrong with Mag supplements for people with my problem. Also, non-stimulant laxatives like mineral oil have been used long termto treat things like chronic constipation. Stimulant laxatives can damage the nerves and make the colon lazy.

Yeah, she looked at me like I had two heads when I asked about the MOM. I didn't tell her I had been taking it since last week. All I was taking was one tablespoon and it did make the stool softer and the bleeding stopped again.
I'll get the colonoscopy just to make sure things are okay. At least, it'll be done by someone else besides her. Maybe I'll get a different perspective. We did find some CRS's on the internet last night in downtown St. Louis at the Barnes Jewish/Washington University School of Medicine Complex. It's a good drive, but to get a different opinion would be great. I'll be making an appt. with one of them if I need to.
I'm not having any bleeding again, so I think I'm going to hold off on getting that Lotrisone cream. I don't want to mess with the skin much down there. The cream's side effects worry me.

Yeah, don't be afraid to see a new doctor. The CRS who did my hemorrhoid surgery kept telling me I was fine even though I kept showing her this mass next to my anus. I even asked her if it could be an abscess and she said she didn't think so. It wasn't until I saw a doctor at a University (Wake Forest) hospital that he confirmed what I thought had happened and by then it had turned into a fistula.

Not to scare you, but you have to look out for your own best interests. Do you have a friend or spouse or SO that can go with you and help advocate for you?

Yes, my husband would go with me. It's a long drive and I don't like driving in the city unless I absolutely have to. He took me a few years ago when I was having some other problems and had to see a specialist there. Luckily, he has a job with alot of vacation days available through the year for things like that. I just hate when he has to use them up on me. Like Monday, he'll be sitting all afternoon waiting for me. But, that's what he does and never complains.
So far, he hasn't had health problems where I've needed to take him. And I hope he stays healthy like that for years to come. But, I definitely have alot of catching up to do to make up for the times he's taken off work to talk to one of my doctors or for me to have a procedure.

Julie,
I agree with Lecia. Take someone with you to help you ask questions. Sometines I write things down before my appts. so I won't forget thngs to ask. I am glad your husband is going with you to help you out. Sounds like you need a new doctor anyways. I hope you feel better.
Take Care,
Patty

Thanks, Patty, I appreciate your kind words.
Hi Nancy, Barnes Hospital is in St. Louis. We live in a rural area and I don't like driving in city traffic.
