Did you have the Botox a 2nd time? Did it work? I am 14+ months post two fissures - worst time of my entire life - and 3+ weeks Botox that didn’t work. Now trying to decide whether to do Botox again or LIS. I am mystified as to how I was a healthy, active woman in my early 40s, but my body cannot seem to heal from this injury. I just don’t know what to do. So frustrating and depressing.

Missy- Here the doctors have to decide whether it's a good idea to provide a second Botox dose. Two different doctors said I don't have the spasm that would justify more botox.

MPB- I haven't encountered that problem at any other medical institution, only Stanford, which is enough reason for me to never go there again. For now I'm relying on my pelvic PT. She's much better than the previous one I used to see, and I'm making some progress through dilation and massage which gives me some hope. Thanks for your concern :)

Canttakethis- I didn't have it twice because the doctor didn't think it would help. Don't beat yourself up over not being able to heal. Your body does want to heal, but it's the location of the injury that makes it hard. It's usually a combination of hypertonic muscles and normally low blood circulation in the area, plus daily bowel movements that hinder healing.

Hi P&h I don't think I get spasms as such I just think my muscle has gotten use to soft bms an never stretching an they said they would do botox again if I wanted an if it didn't work the first time they also said they don't do the resting pressure test when I asked about it I was told that they just check during an exam and the proper test costs to have it done an it's at a different place all together.
