I am doing all right. Botox healed me enough that the doctors say my anal pressure is now normal, but I still have pain after BMs, though not bad. I have to take miralax every night but partly because of my medications which cause constipation. I'm going to a pelvic PT to clear up the remaining muscle tension and tenderness. I do manual stretching internally and also getting started on dilation slowly.

8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.

Thanks MPB. I think I could benefit from another round of Botox but the doctor refused to do it unless I get a manometry test done which sounded very invasive. I'm thinking of finding another doctor who will do it for me because I'm tired of being in pain everyday. Despite laxatives I may still get a hard BM on the weekends and it's painful for quite a while until things settle down. Sometimes I wonder if I still have a fissure, or if I get tiny fissures often which can't really be seen. :(

My CRS does Botox as many times as the patient wants but he does insist on the manometry test after the second one. Maybe you are still getting tiny tears and no one should have to be in pain every day. Really do hope you get it sorted out hun a second opinion is a good idea hun

I'm going to ask to see a different doctor in the same department as the one who did the botox for me. Today was a difficult day and I've spent the whole morning lying in bed and crying. My poor husband is also at his wit's end wondering how to help me. Every weekend I have hard BMs that are setting me back and preventing full healing. My plan is now to increase miralax from Thursday to Sunday so I can have better BMs on weekends.

I tried to go see a different doctor in the same department as the one who did my botox last year, and they refused to let me see her. Some kind of policy about not seeing two different doctors for the same problem, as if they are clones of each other and won't have different opinions. I'm sorry if I sound bitter, but that's how I feel when a place that's supposed to help me turns me down. I'm done trying to deal with Stanford health care.

Probably because they know they all have different options you mite say doctor so an so said I shouldn't do that or I should do that an they tell you the opposite very likely to happen an happens everytime I see any doctor

It's possible that's the reason, but I think the real reason is they don't really care about patient outcomes, plus don't want one doctor to get all the patients.

I don't think they make you take a manometry test here in NZ they just simply give you Botox or lis it's up to you if you want Botox again they do advise on getting Botox for woman a few times first as it is worth a go an less risk. Hope you find a good doctor willing to help you.

Oh that’s awful we can see different docs over here and often get different docs on the same team even without asking. Mostly they have the same opinion but not always. It’s so hard when the people who should be there to help actually start to hinder your healing.
Really hope you find another dr PaH x
