I had 2 seton placement surgeries on my original abscess and an extension to it that appeared afterwards.
None of my abscesses had created a fistula so those canals were created artificially for draining.
In a few weeks from now I'm guessing I will have to remove the first seton placement. I couldn't find any information about fistulas that were surgically created so my question is, what happens in this situation? Will the surgery mess the sphincter muscle?
I am concerned about this as I'm regularly having leakages an hour or two after a BM. (This was after a month of rectal surgeries and regular checkups.
Will my sphincter return back to normal after everything is done and over with?
I would HATE to wear pads for the rest of my life!
