Still Fissure Free ( for now )

Postby Sorerumpie » 24 May 2008, 11:29

Hi all, I still am healing along nicely after 6 months of fissure hell.
I think the trick that really did it was going to Nitro cream 3 times daily, and coating it with zinc oxide baby cream about ten minutes after the Nitro had time to work. That - along with keeping it super clean with Sitz Bath after every bowel movement.
I have discontinued use of the nitro or nefidipine cream entirely - but still very religous with the sitz after EVERY bowel movement .
Sitting directly on the hard painful lump( scar tissue )at 6 oclock is stubborne but seems to be getting better as well.
That was one painful , relentless, and frustrating experience !!
I do NOT welcome it back EVER !!!!!!!!!!
Hope all of you are doing very well and recovering nicely - or at least getting a program figured out for yourselves ...

Are you sure you wouldn't want it back for an overnight visit, just for old time's sake? Image
That sure is super news! Hope you never ever have that visitor again, John! Image

Wow-that is great news! We've been wondering what happened to you. Usually no news is good news around here! Image

Glad you found a routine that works for you and hope you continue to heal. Thanks for sharing your tips.

Thanks you'all, I'm still not totally healed and never know when fissure #3 might come to visit me. It is really nice to know that all of you are here and are my friends.
I'll check back in again , and wish all of you happy days !!

that's great news john.
let's hope there is no fissure no. 3.
and that now that you are aware of taking care of your butt like you have had no idea before, you can totally take precautions to avoid fissure no. 3.
anyway, keep up the good work and happy healing!

Yeah, especially at 99 you really have to watch it! But it will be good for others to know that you can get over this and go on to live another what? 1-10 years?

That's right Lecia, my butt is whistling sweet tunes right now !
At this age - that's not a bad thing to enjoy .........
Thanks Patty, yea - that's the reality - I will probably forever be hiding my sitz-bath under the sink cabinet with my medimucel....
Life is great - isn't it ??
