Fissure Gone but Burning is back

Postby jdirect » 28 Mar 2018, 13:31

My fissure disappeared around six months ago. During this time I did not feel any sort of discomfort.

For a month now, I have been feeling burning and sometimes itching in the anal opening. I got it examined by the doctor and he ruled out any fissures or any other problem.

The itching and burning sometimes become worse and sometimes better.

I read it on the internet that massaging it through finger helps. There was also a study published in the NIH (ncbi) site.

When I try the massage, I feel the itching only just in the opening area. When the itching is worse, I find blood stains on the tissue paper.

Any suggestions, advice or info?

Much appreciated with thanks.

Ask your doctor if it could be pruritis ani. Until then, keep the anal area dry, avoid wiping with dry toilet paper like the plague, and use water for gentle cleaning.
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
