Appointment Update

Postby Guest » 14 Jul 2008, 11:18

Hi all
I wanted to reply sooner but its been an eventful afternoon,
Had to wait ages when I got to the hospital and was eventually seen by the CRS I should have seen in November :D
He was a really nice guy, I had good vibes from him and he even cracked a joke or two , he did a DRE which was ok, he says that he couldn’t feel a polyp inside – I can !!!!?? nevermind !
On the exam the first thing he said was my external skin tag is to come off he mentioned I was spasming too and he advises I go under general anaesthetic for further investigation,
I asked if he could fix my fissure, his reply was not the fissure itself and mentioned anal dilation,
So there we are….. i think it is a case of he will do what needs to be done,
Had my pre assessment too , so just waiting for the date which he said wouldn’t be too long !
I would prefer the LIS to dilation but I suppose the CRS will know best !
I sure hope Lecia has time to read this before setting off....
Thank you all again for you good wishes this morning, Happy your mermaid face is FAB !

Glad it all went ok for you, Tabby. Is the dilation an easier operation than the LIS?

Hope you get your appointment very soon and get it all sorted.

Glad it all went Ok and you liked your CRS, Tabby! Image
So he couldn't feel a polyp that you could? Image
I wonder why he would advise dilation? (a treatment more than a surgical procedure, Val!). It has fallen out of favor with more CRS's... though a few still swear by it.
I went under twilight for examination in 2006, I am sure that is all you'll get, not GA (?).
Still, I am glad you are getting some legwork done and expect soon you'll be getting some rlief. I hope so!

Thanks Val...
Kim - Did you have local anesthetic ?
It is a G/A thats for sure, i had to do a pre assessment in the surgey dept afterwards,
I suppose as he needs to remove this tag ,and anything else this will be the best way !? Image
I know A/D gets bad rap and the thought makes me shudder but i have to lay my trust in this guy Image

Oh, if he is going to do more than just examine, then you'll probably get the GA. I got versed, the twilight stuff but he was just looking.
What is A/D??

I can ask when i see him before i go under, i had the feeling he wasnt discussing particulars like LIS or A/D as he knew i was nervous, my face said it all when he suggestted A/D, surely he can test the spincter when i am under too ? i dont know if this is how he would decide doing the LIS OR A/D Image Love that icon !
See i am rambling now ....
