Appointment with the butt-doctor

Postby Mr. Fissure » 20 Nov 2008, 17:42

Hello,
I joined the forum a week or so ago after having a fissure and trying to find information about it on the web. I had healed mine with the Nipedefine cream 3x daily for 6 weeks. I started forgetting to take the fiber and drinking less water when it came back again. I had an appt. with the doctor today and he said the fissure is actually not deep. I did have pain/bleeding but he said with the Nipedefine, fiber, water and sitz-baths it should heal on its own. He asked me if I learned my lesson about the fiber, I said Yes! He said take Fiber every day for the rest of your life and you should not only heal the fissure but never have colon-problems and it lowers blood-pressure! I hope this info may help someone. Let me know if you have any questions or replies.
Thank You! Image

The area will be delicate for some time now, best to carryon the regime and as you say the fibre has many health benifits so it is all good Image

Best of luck Mr. Image !!!!
I wish fiber was answer for me LOL - I ate high fiber diet all of my life and still got a fissure Image . I do however have below normal blood pressure Image
Just keep up good work and hopefully you will heal fast and forever Image . If you do not have hypertonic sphincter - your chances are VERY high !!!!

Hi and Thank You,
My fissure was caused by hemmoroid surgery so hopefully it will heal on its own so I do not have to have another one. I learned alot from all of you on this site, so hopefully I can learn how to deal with this fissure and give some advice to other as well. Image

Mr. Fissure,
Did your hemroid surgery go awry? If so, that is too bad.

Hi Cherylk,
I was told by the doctor that a fissure is a common effect of any surgery,
especially dealing with that area along with colonoscopy, ect. I wonder if anyone
else on the forum has a fissure from a colonoscopy or other procedure?

That sucks Mr Fissure Image
I think our Jo had a similar case due to hemmoroid surgery Image
I wouldnt like to think that colonoscopy can cause a fissure either Image
