Mr. Fissure doctor update

Postby Mr. Fissure » 07 Jan 2009, 12:29

Hello all,
Hopefully everyone is doing well and has a better year in 2009. I went back for my 6 week check-up and got both good and bad news. The doctor said my fissure was gone, it must have healed with the Nifedipine during the last 6 weeks, Great! Image The bad news was that when he did the anoscope, he pressed down and asked if that hurt, which it did. He said now there is a small growth and he would need to do surgery to remove it and biopsy it to see what it is. Image Image I decided not to waste time and I scheduled the surgery for 1/16/09. Hopefully after this I can get off to a better start with the New Year. Take care, Mr. Fissure

That is fabulous you healed so quickly from the fissure. You are total textbook there. I am sure the growth is benign, but glad you are going to have it looked after soon. Best of luck to you, Mr. Fissure!

Hello Tootie,
I actually got the fissure over a year ago from a prior surgery. It healed on and off and I had several bouts with the Nifedipine before it healed. It recently came back but the doctor said it was a mild tear and it did heal again. I know it is rare that someone would have a fissure that would heal and not re-tear, unfortunately that was not the case for me either. Thanks for the support!

i am sure you are ok. Will say some prayers. I had a similar thing which it hurt. It was a pocket of fluid from the infection from the fissure. They had no idea that it formed this bump or pocket until they did the procedure you had. They removed it (the fluid and tissue) and sampled the tissue on my second surgery. All came back normal. Just had to take medication for the infection. I am still recovering from my 2nd surgery. It has been a rocky one and seeing another doctor for hyperbaric treatment
Good luck

Have you started hyperbaric treatment yet, Bernard? I looked into it as well, but never found any one willing to look into it for my case.
