Acupuncture for Fissures

Postby whyme » 03 Apr 2009, 11:56

Anyone tried alternative methods for correcting this problem?
I've been doing some reading and thought some acupuncture would help. Seems I have too much heat in the spleen and stomach and that causes issues with the intestines!

just wrote back to your other post re: acunpuncture. i'm also trying meditation and listening to relaxing music in the bath twice a day. i'm focusing on positive thoughts and it's helping me deal with it better at least.

I think the mental aspect is very important to healing, Juney. Just bought my friend who is going through chemo the book, "Head First."

I know I am going to try some TCM Traditional Chinese Medicine formulas before I do surgery. The stress point acupuncture really helped with the spasms today.
I take herbal supplements for lower bowel support and I will start taking some supplements for too much heat. According to TCM, when you have digestive issues, the spleen, pancreas and stomach are working overtime and this causes too much heat in the internal organs.
I have also been working the reflex points for the intestines on both of my feet.
I also purchased some Metamucal that you add to your water. I am really bad about eating proper fibers, I eat lots of bananas though. I added the fiber to my water and am drinking 80 oz a day.

I was under the care of a OCM for awhile and he prescribed a TCM rx that was supposed to help stop internal bleeding. I also take something to help prevent hemorrhoids.
He really liked cat's claw that was in the standardized version of AC-11 for inflammation. I took that for awhile but I don't know if it helped. I was doing so much at the time that it is hard to know what if anything was making a difference or maybe it was just time.

whyme- keep us posted on what you learn from the going the TCM route. i'm really interested in more natural, holistic treatments now since i've had 3 surgeries and won't have another. at my last acupuncture appointment she put some needles in my lower back and used electro-stimulation. that was an interesting sensation. she's never put any near my anus though thank god!

Here is a reflexology chart! In case these areas on your feet hurt because of issues with your booty!
Ok here is the link for it, I can't figure out how to load an image.

WM,
Did you see the link I posted about my son's story while he was in Wichita at Heartspring School? I see that you live in Kansas.
