My fissure incidence started in May. I started treatment with nitro from July and became largely symptom free in late October. Now I do not have any classic fissure symptom (pain or bleeding during bowel movement), however my anus does not feel 100% alright. There is some tenderness/irritation down there, coupled with occasional itchiness (after walking, driving, anytime there is some rubbing etc.). I do not have any external skin tag, but there is a painless rice-grain like bump in the old fissure site that seems to cause the irritation. I went to a CRS two weeks ago -- she said the fissure has healed, there is no recurrence, and treated me for general pruritus ani. I just wanted to ask whether it normal to have some irritation/itching even after the fissure healing? And what could be the rice-grain like bump?

I think that is normal. I had occasional itching after I supposedly had healed. Good luck and welcome.

I think that might be a skin tag.

I have a skin tag and I wouldn't really describe it as a grain of rice though.

A skin tag is what is left over (stretched out skin) from a thrombosed hemmroid. I'm not familiar with scar tissue because I don't think I have any of that!!
