I have just started on Rectogesic cream and was wondering if it works how long will it take. Since i have been doing everything right i am feeling good so its hard to know if its working.
has Rectogesic helped heal anyone????

Nitroglycerin helped tame my fissure (i.e., make the pain manageable). It didn't completely heal it in my case, but it's healed others before. I liked it the best out of the three ointments usually used for chronic fissures.

It didnt help me at all.Do everything right like u r as it might take 6-8 weeks to heal.

I got my fissure to heal in about 9-10 weeks using it back in November.I had a couple of slight re-tears since and one being most recently a couple of weeks ago but it re-healed again.I'ts just me though since I've had fissures in the past :( .But the use of nitro/rectogesic has definately helped tame the beast when it was at it's worst and it helped me to heal it to 98% I suppose...Even with the little re-tears and a damn fistula my butt feels absolutely normal.
