Relieved to have found you all

Postby Lin_2010 » 01 Jul 2019, 19:31

Hi there - I've been looking for a forum like this! I'm nearing 2 years with a chronic AF. It took some time to get around to seeing my doctor and then waiting to get through the medical system where I live. I finally got to see a specialist about my options. I'm trying a conservative approach first with diet & nitroglycerin cream. But I've found a lot of other ideas on here to add to what I call my 'butt maintenance' and am feeling more hopefully now.

Welcome to the board. We all feel that way when we first find it (and then for many years more)!

I hope that you can spend even more time here, finding more helpful advice and asking questions as you go.

Welcome to the support forum - it's indeed a place where you will find understanding of this difficult and painful condition that does not always get proper recognition by the medical profession.

In general, on the forum it helps to know what part of the world members are posting from, as medical treatments for AF tend to vary from one region to another.
2014 Anal fissure
2015 CAT, EUA, sigmoidoscopy, 2 MRI
2016 Pain severe then moderate to low
2017 Moderate pain
2018 Physical therapy, pain management
2019-20 Living with it
2021 Still AF
2022 Therapy, meditation
2023 Onward, up
2024 CT scan

Welcome, Lin! I also wish I had found this forum when I first got my fissure. You can really find everything you need here!
- February 2019 : Fissure
- Tried all of the creams, perfecting the diet, self dilation
- Reduced symptoms significantly but still not healed
- July 2019 : LIS with tag removal
