Fun websites to look at while your butt is recovering

Postby Bumbutt » 11 Feb 2011, 02:32

I was thinking that maybe people know of some fun or interesting websites to look at, that could be entertaining for others to see when they are in post-LIS recovery mode - or if you're sidelined at home with AF pain.
One of my favorites is the photo gallery of the Cloud Appreciation Society.

If you want to see some clouds that you (maybe) never knew existed, look at the Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds...

This is a good idea for a thread. Those are some neat clouds!! And we also have our "Just for Fun" thread that I like a lot (with videos and other fun/funny things).

Try googling some episodes of SNL. I found one with Jim Carey that is hilarious!

Along the poetry line, you can look here for a lot of poems

And if you like Billy Collins, you can search for him on YouTube - there are some nice animations to go with his poetry.

LOL when my fissure was really bad and I felt sorry for myself, I'd go to Google Images and waste a bunch of time looking up images of totally random places around the world. Then I'd wonder how many people living in that place had an anal fissure right now. I suppose one could do the same during LIS recovery...

That gave me a good giggle - putting the AF twist onto geography!
By the way, California must be one of the ultimate fissure places... with the San Andreas fault!! Mother Earth's fissure...

Hey, we may have the San Andreas Fissure, but you guys have the ... the ... the ... ummm Fissure Fjord, so there :)
Seriously, I have no idea how people recovered from surgery or felt sorry for themselves before the Internet Image

I know it!
I think about cavemen and women with a fissure. Do you?

Oh ya hahaha that reminds me of the other thing I used to do when I was under house arrest due to my fissure: try to find rates of anal fissures in different countries across the world.
It was weird because I kept finding literature talking about how people in Asian countries don't really get anorectal diseases due to diet, the way they squat to use toilets, etc. But I'm Asian and swear I know a bunch of people from the "homeland" that have had hemorrhoid surgery LOL. Kind of makes you wonder about the studies Image
Anyway, it was interesting stuff, really good way to kill time and further fascinate oneself with one's painful and poorly understood anorectal condition :)

ha ha ha - they had a program on tv about Lagos, and they interviewed a man who was showing them around his home. He held up this old plastic soda bottle filled with some vile looking liquid and announced that it was his "cure" so that you could go to the bathroom "so nicely and easily and with no pain at all", and I thought "fissure". Some sort of home-brewed Miralax.
