Headaches!!!

Postby andy1505 » 26 Apr 2011, 02:15

Hello Everyone
Over the paste few weeks i have been getting really bad headaches that last all day, do you think this is due to the AF or the medication that i maybe on? I take regular pain killers but this does not touch the headache, just seeing if anyone else suffers from these types of headaches??

Nifedipine gives me a headache, although I have gotten used to the medication so it is not so bad anymore. What medication are you on?

Your reply came just as I was about to say that headaches are common with GTN (nitro) - see for instance
http://www.rcsed.ac.uk/journal/vol45_3/4530008.htm
but that obviously wouldn't be the problem in your case (but I thought I'd post this anyway in case it might help anyone else with headaches).
I've not read anything about macrogol/PEG (e.g. movicol) causing headaches.
Good luck.

I started on movicol and rectogesic (nitro) at the same time, and had blinding headaches. I still take the movicol, but now use diltiazem, and the headaches have gone. Not much use to you though.
If pain killers aren't touching the pain, maybe the headaches are from dehydration? Normally I only get migraine-type headaches if I haven't drunk enough water, so could you up your fluids, perhaps?

It's probably worth talking to your doctor about. I get migraines myself and they are usually tied into seasonal allergies/changes in the weather, etc.

After Botox I was getting alot of headaches caused by tension. Probably coulda used some Botox in my forehead for that lol. But stress and being in constant pain can give you headaches... I would definately ask your doc just in case...

andy,
miralax, which I believe is a sort of equivalent (someone correct me if i'm wrong) to movicol, gave me headaches and made my legs and arms fall asleep/go numb. go figure. i took it for 2 days and didn't like anything about it so i quit. i'm sure i didn't give it enough time for my body to adjust but i really didn't like the side effects.
