A Good CRS in Los Angeles/Pasadena Area

Postby FishBoi » 20 Jul 2011, 20:20

I'm on the fence with LIS. My CRS pretty much told me it's up to me as the fissure was not deep but since it keeps coming back it's more of a nuisance and surgery will get rid of it for good. He made the surgery sound like a no brainer. I know I'm a chicken but I really would like to stay away from surgery if possible but I am getting quite annoyed by this demon. From reading others who had LIS, it sounds like the post-opt pain is worst than my current fissure pain so I'm a bit scared.
I'm looking for a second opinion and wanted to know if any of you had a good experience with a CRS that does many LIS or handle many AF cases. My CRS seems to focus more on Colon Cancer and other benign anal diseases and AF seems to be on the backburner.

My Surgeons name is Dr. David Wang. His office is in Covina. I drove 30 miles to see him. Great bedside manner and great surgeon. Had my surgery yesterday and I am already off my pain meds. He stated he does about 6 LIS and fissurectomies a month. That made me feel more comfortable in choosing him. After researching online and noticed he received 5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks Jas. Have a speedy recovery. Have you been seeing Dr. Wang for some time and decided to go with the LIS or did you choose him for the LIS? I'm asking because if I see him as a new patient will he put me on the more conservative treatments (i.e. ointments) first than LIS if I that doesn't work. Doctors usually don't prefer to have their new patients jump right into surgery.

I chose Dr. Wang for my surgery only. I was skeptical on who to chose and when I found Dr. Wang I was pleasantly surprised. After my initial exam he was very confident about doing the surgery and that made me feel comfortable with my decision in choosing him.

I told him how long I was doing the conservative thing and he didn't hesitate.

Sorry to piggy back this thread, but would anyone know of any good CRS's in the West or Downtown Los Angeles area? I'm kind of restricted by either my work place and my apartment.

PhoenixReborn, I've been seeing Dr. Eiman Firoozmand, he is in the West LA area - Beverly Hills to be exact. He's a nice guy but very cool/calm kinda hard to read. I may have him do Botox next week before opting for the surgery. I'm still looking at others to compare for the Surgery. Jas mentioned Dr. Wang whom I will consult with.
