Whatever it takes to lessen this duration of geeeeez!
Greetings all,
Nice to find this forum.
For the 1st time (I'm 50 now) I've become aware of the overwhelmingly thwarting effects of an af. I can only say wow. Being that I drive 60-80 miles a day for my work is not helpful.
I'm no stranger to pain (cervical and lumbar issues) but again, wow.
It's been 5 weeks, I saw a rectal dr. 3 weeks ago.
1st, it was mineral oil for 2 weeks and calmol 4 suppositories in the PM.
Now back to Konsyl daily along with a new script for nifedeprine compound.
Will try miralax as well.
I realize much water is very important, and diet ofcourse. Hot baths are a must for me and I may get a sitz bath.
Wondering, has anyone else had good results with dead sea salt baths?
I've found them to be helpful (maybe more so than epson) with other pains in the past.
I'm trying to avoid the surgery path as much as will be possible.
Trying to stay positive through all this is no small challenge.
Ohhh the longing for the days of painless bm's. much empathy here.

hi chris, sorry to welcome u. I'm glad u've headed on the right healing regime. I only tried ordinary salts in sitz bath and don't find that it's doing anything. However, if dead sea salt helps u, why not? If you like to know more ideas on how to heal naturally, u may like to search for the thread "my success story". take care!

Thanks.
I'll check out that thread. Although I've been impressed with the healing and calming nature of dead sea salt baths in the past for osteo-related issues, I actually haven't yet bought a new supply to try w the af & hemorrhoid issue.
I was curious if anyone else had.
I'm not sure how long is a reasonable amount of time to "deal" w the ongoing pain before the consideration of a surgery becomes a rational decision. I guess that's very subjective decision. I really hope, as many would I'm sure, it doesn't come to that.
