um... this helps during my fissure period. Hope it helps u too.
breakfast - bread with flaxseeds or any other high-fiber bread + 1/2 cup prune juice
Lunch - avoid spicy food, fried food. Skip rice or flour stuff, replace with wholemeal pasta. Skip beef and pork, try eat fish/chicken. Eat more veggies, fruits, BUT not too much fiber, else will bulk up too much or harden stools if not enough water
Dinner - same as lunch..

Glad to see you back. I am in the southern US so I get great fruit this time of year. I have almost the same thing while fissures are active. I also do not use gluten or dairy so I am very limited but I will tell you what works for me. I do oatmeal and blue berries with 1/3 cup of prune juice for breakfast. A can (or part) of peas or green beans for lunch and chicken breast (no skin) or fish broiled or boiled with cooked veggies ( carrots, cabbage, potatoes, peas or greenbeans) well cooked. I have canned plums or fruit in natural juice for snack or desert. Any thing you can pick up from this please use. You just need to see what works for you. Tomatoes gave me what I call fire butt. Good Luck!

My diet - (and I'm trying to cut Fiber one, completely out - because dwarfs is right - it does tend to bulk up the stool) :
Breakfast - Oatmeal and supplements (or prunes and banana or some other fruit
Lunch - Steamed brussel sprouts and avocado (other steamed vegetables seem okay, as long as they're soft)
Supper - Plain salad 2/olive oil and avocado, with prunes for dessert
Twice per day I take Colace and Konsyl. My supplements include magnesium, B6, and Vit. C (along with a multiple vit., calcium, and iron).
So far, this seems to work okay with my BMs.

Hi, granny -
My diet probably sounds boring - and BTW, I cut out the prunes, completely, because it was just too much on my system (I had an explosive BM because of the prunes).
I have now added a very small portion of apple sause as my "dessert." Oh, and did I mention that I live with two "foodies," who can eat anything and everything, and never, ever suffer?? I just eat my salad, while they wolf down all kinds of food.

My morning usually starts out with a sliced apple, a soft boiled egg and whole grain toast.
For lunch I usually pick up a takeout order of sashimi or a chicken salad
for dinner I eat a variety of things, but it's mostly fish or chicken with lots of green veggies.
for snacks I stick to hummus and celery or salsa with homemade flour tortilla chips so I can control the oil.
