Hi,
Im still very new to this site and although I do not appear to be suffering as much as some people on here, im still finding my fissure to be extremely annoying and very discomforting. Ive had my fissure for approx 4 months and went to see a consultant about it back in November, he prescribed some diteziem cream which I have been using every since and suggested that I have a colonoscopy to rule out any disease, I nervously underwent my colonoscopy last wednesday which was all good, however after the proceedure the doctor told me that he thought that my fissure was starting to heel and advised that I should continue to have a good high fibre diet and to exercise and also mentioned about being careful not retear my fissure. I asked him about the cream that I have been using and he advised that i should not use the cream any longer and to just watch my diet and went on his merry way.
Luckily, im not having as many spasms at the moment so I guess that it is a sign that there is some healing going on, however, from the start, I have been experiencing tailbone/ buttock ache almost like a nagging toothache that just wont go away, in fact, it seems to get worse thoughtout the day even with painkillers and a hot water bottle this does not ease and seems to drag me down to the point where im feeling overwhelmed with the discomfort and start crying. my husband has been great, but im worried that im beggining to get him down too. Im not really sure where to go from here as to how to resolve my fissure nightmare and feel like ive just been left hanging. Im going back to see my family doctor next week but not sure what she will advise as she does not seem to be very clued up.
Any advice would be great, as like everyone else, Im desperate to feel back to normal.
Michelle
