Good to hear that Pat. I got mine generic at Walgreens, but that's only because I was also picking up my script for Nucynta ER, and it was the only place in the county that carried this new analgesic.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the equivalent of Miralax would be in the UK?
I see it on Amazon but I can't seem to find it for sale at my local pharmacy and I dont really ilk buying meds online.
Any advice? (it also seems quite pricey!)
Also - sorry to ask this but never had a laxative before in my life - does it create a sense of shall we say URGENCY or just easier BM when it happens?

It might be called Restoralax in the UK. That is what it is called here in Canada. Yes it is pricey, but for me, half the recommended dose is enough.
No great sense of urgency. Try it you will like it.

rasmith3530 wrote:Yeah, I've been using a generic version of Miralax that I picked up at Walgreens. It has softened my stools but I sadly still get bleeding. I'm barely eating, but when I do, it is poop-friendly foods these days. No nuts, no crunchy stuff, no red meat, mostly cooked veggies and chicken.
I am still curious about the benefits of Coconut Oil for our purposes.

Coconut oil has many nutritional benefits and also has "calming" effect on digestive system. It is not a laxative (unless somebody would eat whole jar Image I guess )
I personally used it during my fissure days for its nutritional values since I was loosing weight too fast and too much of it and did not have much extra to begin with.
It is VERY beneficial for people with Crohn's !!!!!!
PS: If anybody has a need for "lubricant effect" there is a super product called "Kondremul" (just Google it, for some reason my stupid computer can not "cut and paste " today Image )
I used it - it works !!!!

Polyethylene Glycol is the same as Miralax, however, it is cheaper AND you can get a Rx for it... cost me $2.60 for 527 gm.
Also, coconut oil is great... internal & external!

Yes it's MOVICAL in the UK. You can get it from Boots or any other pharmacy....I use Lactulose personally and have found that to be great too. Not actually sure what the difference is between that and Movical but works OK for me and was recommended by my GP after bad tearing after child birth...
