Most of mine have been internal and yes, they can take a long time to heal. The external ones I've had tend to heal quicker.
I'm using small enemas to soften the BM before it comes and squatting while having a BM. Also slow, careful self dilation with positive results.

My very first one took about 6 weeks, the next one 7 months, and the one I'm trying to get healed now I've had for 3 months, but things are moving in the right direction, thankfully.

Inside and outside both. The outside ones come when I accidentally eat anything with gluten. Those with celiac disease are more prone to fissures than the rest of the population

Quick healing for anal fissure

Postby carmi604 » 25 Feb 2012, 03:55

I don't seem to get the mode to introduce a subject, so am trying my luck. Sometimes with straining I get a fissure, bleeding. For years I treat it , very successfully, with: Roll a piece of cotton wool into a tampon-like form (but thinner), soak it with wheat germ oil and push it into, not far up. Best at night.Wear something for the possible oily leakage. - It never failed to heal in 1-2 days.

Hey, that sounds interesting - that will well grease the "chute" for the next BM at the same time.
