Recommendation for CR Surgeon in NYC

Postby InPain » 06 Mar 2012, 18:15

After suffering for months with my latest fissure, I finally gave in and saw a CRS. He diagnosed me with a fistula and said I need surgery. I like this CRS but think it might make sense to get a second opinion. Does anyone have any recommendations for a CRS in NYC? Thanks very much.

Hey inpain,
So sorry to hear about the fistula!
Don't know about NYC myself, but if you look under the websites etc, section there are some recommendations. Also, I like to check on ratemds.com myself.
It seems that fistulas usually need surgery, but a second opinion is always wise.
Best of luck,
Tanya

My GP recommended:
Dr. Jeffrey Freed at Mt Sinai - altho he doesn't take my insurance so couldn't go
The second recommendation is for someone who doesn't take any insurance (not an option for me) - i can find that name if you are still interested.
i'm seeking a 2nd opinion with someone from nyumc who comes highly recommended to me: Dr. Harlin
good luck on your search!

Dr. Harlin was great,
took time to explain, answer questions, didn't rush things.
