Just had mine for the night. Make sure you mix it thoroughly in water first, and have water on hand to chase it with. The stuff can expand quickly.
BTW, this stuff tastes awful... but well worth it.

Hey I use metamucil which is psyllium.
I would start small, though. Take a half dose the first time or you may get too gassy.
I like it though. Some find it too bulking and prefer benefiber.
Good luck finding the right balance for you! :)

i started using the max dose of metamucil which is psyllium, and found it made my stools too bulky. I'm down to six capsules twice a day, (2/3rds max dose) and i find that works great.
it's good stuff, recommended by my CRS, but don't take too much.
tc and get BETTER

BTW
if you don't mind eating six capsules at once the metamucil capsules work fine... just drink a half a glass of water with them. You can find clones online at amazon for cheap.

I wish I had this information last week when I first tried the *Konsyl* the doctor foisted on me.... I was bloated and burping for hours and it scared me away from using the stuff.
I guess second times a charm?

My CRS said "Konsyl" is the gold-standard of fiber, and I prefer it to Benefiber and Metamucil, but I agree - start with a small dose and add a little more each day.

You want to go easy too with bulk forming products like these as for some folks it makes BMs too bulky for easy passage. Starting slow is really good advice.

To be honest, the one packet I took --- mixed into 8 ounces of black tea --- made my stool more like rabbit poo for nearly the next full day. I hated it.
I'm not so inclined to continue... but... but... butt... I know I need to take care of the underlying (f)issu(r)e if I am to live a normal life. Soooooo the idea of a half packet of this stuff sounds plausible and see where it goes from there.

I'd like to try konsyl but can't find it in Canada :(
metamucil either comes with sugar or fake sweeteners.
Personally I don't think the taste needs sweetening.
