New to board...Have a question about fissure.

Postby dcmullets1 » 13 Jul 2012, 17:07

I was told I have a fissure (3 o'clock) via rectal exam :( . I do not bleed and my bowel movements do not hurt. However I have left buttock pain and a constant throbbing at the fissure sight.
Anyone have similar problems?
Does a doctor feel for polyps, lumps with rectal exam?
I read that fissures off the midline can be dangerous and underlying problems of things like cancer. Just a little worried...

My advice would be not to worry or even begin letting your mind wander to places it shouldn't. Every fissure is different and your doctor didn't seem too concerned, so you shouldn't either. My fissure throbbed in the early days. I didn't have the symptoms some others have had. Each body reacts differently. Stay positive. Cancer would be so rare - no reason to even go there at this point. The Internet can be a scary place. Probably wise to stay away and only worry if the dr. gives you a reason too.
Take care - we're all here for you!!
