Hi there OMB- only just caught this thread - - how do you think I chose my name ? Anoheal made me itch like crazy Image and it wasn't until the second tube! In my case the brand and product of the second tube were exactly the same. I think it does say itching is a possible side effect on the info in the box. Little did I realise how bad it could be- the pain was preferable to the itching.
I got it sorted out when I saw my CRS he said I had a chronically inflammed anus and prescribed an anti fungal and cortisone cream called Daktacourt which he said I should use for 6 weeks twice a day. But blessed relief! I was better within a couple of weeks and my bum is now itch free. My AF is still there and I'm using nitro which I found very difficult to start off with because of the headaches but I just use a pea size amount 3 times a day now and it hardly affects me at all - my head just gets a bit heavy. I think you can get used to it. I would be surprised if it healed my chronic fissure ( surgery looms)- although I 'm always hopeful, but nitro really stops it hurting. Maybe you could give the nitro another try only using a small amount and then try to build it up slowly. Hope you get your itching sorted out - I'm there with you ... it ain't funny, not funny at all. Image

Hey Fitchatak,
As soon as I stopped using it I stopped itching... So I hope I don't have any inflammation.
I really don't know if I can handle the headache from the nitro.... Pain in the bum is one thing.... Head too..no, I'm too much of a whimp!
How long have you been using nitro?
I have to wait till the 29 th to see my crs. I have to go on holiday 4 days later. Need him to give me a miracle cure! Not asking much am I !! Image

I think I've been using nitro for about 4 weeks ? The headaches don't last for long when you first start using it as long as you don't the amount they say just a tiny amount to start with - I would definately start using it - it's the only thing that gets rid of the pain apart from showers and sitz baths.
Good luck with your holiday - I was so worried about going back to work in September - ( i work in a school) after my summer of hell- but it's been fine - when you are really busy the pain seems more manageable somehow. I would only say - make sure you don't get constipated on your journey - that was my undoing on my holiday - i didn't drink enough and didn't eat my usual fibre and then I was in a pickle when I got there. Take a load of fruit and water onto the plane! x
