how do you actually find/apply the fissure to treat it

Postby meisen01 » 17 Nov 2012, 21:01

Having the fissure - and you want to treat it- how can one detemine where it is? you know the area where the pain is but how does one actually apply therapy ( creams etc) to it. If you can only feel the sensation how /what are people using to guide the application of creams etc to it.

I used a mirror that one would use for close up on the face. Positioned right spread the anus, bear down. I saw mine right away. You can also feel it with a little pressure from the finger, you will know where it is from it being tender!

YES! This is so hard for me to find...I, for example, this morning had a BM with no blood and without major pain and wiped with moist TP. Then I started moving up towards the center of my butt and when I put the paper just maybe 1 CM in between the crack, blood started (not gushing, but blood). Does it make sense the fissure could be so close to the top of the 'crack'? Errrrghhhhh...I wish I could see it, but I don't know how to look. And everything is so shiny and greasy from the nitro...

The best way, if you can't visualise your fissure is to insert the ointment with your finger up to the second knuckle, that makes sure you get higher up fissures that occur in the rectum, applying outside the anus isn't effective.
