GTN irritation?????

Postby Rachael 1984 » 17 Feb 2013, 08:42

Hi everyone, I am on GTN for the second time after using it for 8wks. Soon after application, I am getting redness, itching and general irritation.
Not sure if I have reacted to it now, and need to stop use?!!! It is 7 wks until Botox, so I will have nothing to use for the pain?! Has anyone else had reaction to Nitro after continued use??? Image

Hi Rachael, sorry to hear more bad news. Where exactly are you applying the cream to get an irritation? It should normally be applied inside...

I know! It can't get any worse! I am applying it inside as before. But today it seems to be red around the area and just a horrible irritated feeling. Maybe my butt can't take any more chemicals. Unless, could the stool softener cause irritation?? I am on macrogol. Just a thought?!

That sucks, just as i thought you might get some relief until Botox. I have no idea what macrogol is? I use Lactolose, which prevents you bowels from drawing moisture out of the BM, keeping it soft. It's also safe to use indefinitely!

Macrogol is a osmotic laxative, mixed into 12ml of water. It comes in a sachet, powder type. Maybe I could try the lactulose. Need to be careful with the IBS!

Lactolose is a synthetic sugar which your body can't digest (sugar from milk, hence the lacto part of the name).
I have IBS and I'm fine with it, but I suppose everyone will be different! :)

Sounds good, my doc told me that the macrogol can be used long term too, but I still hate taking it! Tastes like gone off salt water! Image

Yes, Rachael 1984, I developed a reaction to the cream after using it for few months and it was actually working, I got the itching redness irritation I used yeast cream and that help out, but as soon I will start the cream again the itching will come back, to the point that my skin started peeling, so I have not use it since Nov.
Sorry to hear that you are sensitive to it too.
