Hello, are you a lady or man?! I am having urination issues too. Pain on urination and frequency, which I am also seeing a uro gynae about. This adds to the stress of the damn Fissure problem, as I think I have another Issue.
Not sure if it is connected, but I was treated with 3 lots of Antibiotics for water infections... Then told halfway through 3rd lot, there was no bacteria present...
My docs keep doing urine samples, cos I do feel like I have water infection. But they are negative...

I definitly have issues with urination when spasms are worst. IT will continue to drip, and I have the feeling I have to go all the time.
Im a man.

I'm a male and when my fissure is acting up I can't empty my bladder, because for that last push it takes to empty bladder it requires flexing of muscles that make your fissure spasm.

That is interesting, when my fissure was fresh and spams were very strong I did have pain all over my pelvic area that extended to my feminine parts.
I remember that urinating was somewhat a problem and I even thought that I had a bladder infection, but I didn't.
I guess when the spams are strong if affects everything.

Yes, the spasms of the sphincter can cause pelvic floor spasms that can affect urination. Logistically, it might be harder for men, but one thing you can try is to sit on the toilet with your knees elevated, similar to a squatting position many of us use for BMs. The squatting position relaxes the pelvic floor muscles and may make emptying the bladder easier.

I'm a man - when I first got my fissure I was in horrible pain. I could not empty my bladder at all. I had to go to emerg and be catheterized. I had no idea what was wrong with me. The doctor was looking down there and said "oh my you have a an anal fissure". I said "a what"? Anyways when my fisure hurts, it makes it harder o empty the bladder, but at least I can urinate and not have to go to hospital since that first time.
