2-3weeks botox healing??

Postby Asore Arse » 05 Jul 2013, 13:21

Hi All
I read somewhere on t'internet that it should take 2-3weeks to heal a fissure after botox?? I'm coming up to 5 weeks post botox, mostly I've been doing well, but then I had a set back whilst I was away for the weekend, I had constipation-which was a shocker since I usually have the opposite problem: too runny shits. Anyway it set me back and I've had some pain since then. I am worried its been 5 weeks now and if I haven't healed yet, will I heal? My doc said that if I don't heal after 8 wks then then next step is the anal flap replacement - does not sound like fun to me. I feel the need to hear some reassurance....does it mean the botox hasn't worked if its taking this long? Or is there hope for it to succeed yet? Image

From what I have read, it can take 2-3 months to heal after botox. I had botox nearly 5 weeks ago, and Im nowhere healed either.
Maybe people with acute fissures heal that fast (2-3 or 5 weeks), but once its cronic, longer healing time must be expected.

Yeah, give it time. Botox has effect for like 3 months, so Im going to give it 3 months to heal.
Rachael is like 10 weeks post botox, and still healing. Stratocaster was also healing after 10 weeks, and you can find a few ppl in the LIS section, who are 2-3 weeks post botox and also in the healing process.

I'm now 3 weeks post Botox & fissurectomy, was doing well up until yesterday when blood appeared. It's such a rollercoaster and anything can affect your "routine".
It's a lot of trial and error and looking after yourself.
I heard 8 weeks to heal. But everyone's different. Fingers crossed we'll all get there eventually.

I'm 3 months post botox and it helped reduce my fissure from 15 to 5mm, along with other things I was doing. It's suppose to have worn off by now, but my sphincter is so relaxed between BMs. I don't know if it's some botox leftovers or my resting pressure just returned to normal. Post BM spasm/pain has also reduced from 9+ to 4-5 but mostly 3-4.
So I'm far from a full healing, but I now have the confidence that I can heal this naturally. My CRS doesn't even mention surgery, he even thinks a second botox shot would be overkill. So I'd say wait with that advancement flap.
