For the women out there

Postby MONI07 » 11 Jul 2013, 17:08

How do you go during your monthlies? I panic at the sight of blood and having my period and not knowing if all the blood is from that or if the AF is bleeding again a bit drives me crazy.

Great question, Monio7, For me Turning 51, but not at menopause, in fact I just got my period, probably for the last time.
And it did scare me, because I'm older and I forgot that I could still get it a few more times. But I realized as long as it's not in your pee and not in the back end as you wipe or on your stool, then it should be OK. It should only be on your pad not in your urine.
Also I broke out a bit around my chin, another sign.

I have very heavy periods at the start so it's on a lot more than just the pad.

I know when I First got the AF was at the beginning of my period 2 months ago. Since then it's bled small amounts probably 4 times in that time.

Try too look in a small mirror, maybe lay on your bed and try too see , location of blood, as long as its in the front, not coming from the rectum. I hope that helps, either way, you will get more usefull advice so stay tuned..we are all here for each other.Image

Even my deepest fissures have never bled so it's not an issue for me, but if you're wearing pads and have a heavy flow it's going to be difficult to tell the difference.
You could just assume all blood during your period is menstrual blood and take the time off from worrying : )
Or, if you can wear tampons instead of pads, that could help in being able to tell the difference.

Please make sure you ladies take on more water during these times, I had a retear after a good few days of Bristol 6s. As soon as my selfish ovaries kick start, they decide they need a lot more water for themselves resulting in a slight constipation for me.
I up'd my Movicol and haven't looked back since.
Anyone else find that? (stupid ovaries)
I was really worried about telling the blood apart, but the way I see it is, if its going to happen, there's not much you can do to stop it so long as you are doing everything else right. Just take care of yourself, try to see a pattern and account for it.
