Stay in London

Postby pinpin » 10 Nov 2013, 09:28

I finally decided to go for LIS, it has been 9 months and wound hasn't healed even closely. It is really expencive pleasure to have surgery in uk, in comparison to salaries we have. Is here someone who may help with stay in london. It will be max 3 night. Arrival date, surgery, one day of stay, and forth flight back to home.

Ps: hotels are crazy expensive

Unfortunatly, I live along way from London, which would add to your troubles, so can't help you there.... But have you looked at travel lodges, holiday inns, premier inns etc??
What dates are you looking at???

Hi Igrik, have you sorted out your accommodation in London yet?
unfortunately London is ridiculously expensive at all time, esp approaching Christmas.
Please try Easyhotels.com too.
Good luck!!!

Last time I stayed in London was 2009 at cost £120 a night and then had to pay more for parking. It was a clean place but the walls were paper thin. It was a hotel chain but not one of the major ones (not premier inn etc).
Do you have to go to London? Have you arranged for a specific surgeon?
I'm in the West Country right now and found a local Nuffield private hospital that will do it if I decide to go that route. No ideal of the cost at the moment.

Hy Igrik! So you must go abroad to get LIS. And do you have to pay for complete service, in spite of the fact that it is not available in Latvia?
Directive 2011/24/EU on patients rights in cross border healhcare which says: " Members (of the EU) shall bring into force the laws regulations administration provisions necessary to comply with this Directive by 25. october 2013."
It is a lot of paperwork, but I think we can get all or at least some of the costs reimbursed by the public healthcare insurance. I do not know the reality, but it should be so and in all countries members of the EU.

There is the link to the general information:

Disabling burning, drilling pain in anal area for almost a year, started after UT infection. Small anal fissure diagnosed, turned out it is probably not the cause of pain, MRI shows no inflammation or fistula. Grateful to forum members for support.

Igrik, sorry to hear about this. 9 months is a very long time, and if you don't feel there is any healing going on, I think it's the right choice. Maybe Davo can help you regarding a cheap place to stay in London. Good luck mate!

" Being an insured individual in EU Member State, you are entitled to reimbursement of costs of medical devices bought in other EU member states in accordance with regulations in the country where you are insured. More details of the entitlement to the medical device bought and information on the reimbursement procedure can be obtained in the country where you have health insurance – national contact points of EU Member States."
Latvia is on the list too

Igrik are you going to see Mr Windsor in Harley St '
If you go 10 miles out you should get a lot cheeper hotel '
I know you would stay in the hospital for the first night
So you may only need 2 nights elsewhere
