100% healed - Hyperbaric Chamber

Postby revma5 » 29 Dec 2013, 18:29

Hello All,

Revma here - for those of u not familiar with my story, just search Hyperbaric Chamber - I have posted my threads there. Anyway it has been 2 months since I last felt a tiny twinge, or felt anything but normal down there. I completed 30 hyperbaric sessions, daily for 1 hour a day. Hbot therapy is used to treat unhealing wounds such as diabetic or ulcers. There have also been studies relating to hbot and fissures u can read online - it isnt a normal treatment method mainly due to cost. It cost me $4000.00 - but worth every cent. Saved me from unneccessary surgery. I had both a fissure and an unhealing wound from a hemm surgery - both were healed - I had deep ulcer type cuts in my rectum that bled all the time - and were very painfull. Since being healed, I have travelled to Mexico, spent a week skiing, been to the gym. I want to thank everyone for all the support on this forum - and would encourage those of u with long term unhealing fissures, to consider hbot instead of more surgery. It worked to the point where recently I tried to feel for.my fissure, and all I felt was baby smooth skin. Finally I stopped going to my crs - gave up on that. And it worked out just fine. I also would take a salt water bath everyday after a bm in warm water, make sure area was always clean, and applied corn starch powder to keep it dry. Please rwad all my posts regarding hyperbaric, and please consider it...saved my life!

Fantastic news, revma. I am so so glad it worked for you, and that you have a good quality of life.
Three cheers!
It would be interesting to hear about other people's experiences of the hyperbaric chamber.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

That is FANTASTIC, revma. I think igrik also did this, and I might consider it too, when money is less tight. Maybe it will help with chronic pain too. I will try anything!!!

:sunny: Hi Revma! I was just wondering how are you. So glad you are o.k..
I remember we talked about the pressure. In your case it was not up to 2 ATA and it worked fine.. I am happy to hear such a good news from you.
Disabling burning, drilling pain in anal area for almost a year, started after UT infection. Small anal fissure diagnosed, turned out it is probably not the cause of pain, MRI shows no inflammation or fistula. Grateful to forum members for support.

Rachael, there are places that do it..... There's some where near me that does it.... But you have to be referred by a consultant. I asked mr Windsor about it, and he didn't think it was a viable treatment for an anal fissure, because of daily contamination risk to the wound.
Maybe I should show him this thread!!
