Im coming up on my first year of dealing with this oh-so-lovely problem (mostly successful on lido-nifedo ointment). It's gone from a pain that prevents me from sleeping to background noise I can manage throughout the day, but I'm worried that it isn't fully resolved.

After researching alternative treatments, I came across this blog entry:

While it discusses the benefits of using manuka honey on fissures, it also name drops Dr. Daniel Feingold (based in New York City), and an alternative treatment involving cleaning, cauterizing, and using a steroid to heal fissures.

The sucky part is he's the only one out there that seems to be practicing this new method. I live in Maryland, so it's not too hard for me to get to New York, but I'd rather hear from others who may have visited him or heard of this procedure first.
