Blood or Pain?

Postby mmklinemm » 21 Sep 2014, 00:00

I've had very little bleeding throughout this ordeal, until the last week. I've now had 2 episodes of pretty heavy bleeding. But, my pain is almost nothing. Should I be worried about the blood even though I have almost no pain? I think I read on here that pain is more of an indicator than blood, but I can't remember for sure.

:thanx:

I think it's hard to say and time will tell but there have been times that I have bled a lot and then it healed up really quickly and times that it hurts real bad but doesn't bleed. Often for me, the days after a bleed is the most painful and spastic. Maybe you just nicked a blood vessel. Here's hoping it will clear right up.

Agree with msimon, if you have no pain the next couple of days it's probably not a big deal. I always used pain as my guide. It could be internal hem, which I had, that causes a good amount of blood. Good luck

I think it's a good idea to get rectal bleeding checked out by the doctor, especially if it's unusual for you. But I agree with Apes - if it wasn't painful, it could be an internal hemmie rather than your fissure opening.
Personal note: I never had/noticed any blood ever with my fissure.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Thanks for the replies, y'all. Today was pretty good with no bleeding, and no added pain. I'm hoping yesterday was just due to too much activity during the day. I'm going to see a new CRS on the 30th. Looks like I'll add this latest issue to my growing list of questions. I've never had hemorrhoids before, but maybe that's what this is??
