Can the anal glands be removed to avoid fistulas?

Postby sjenner » 13 Oct 2014, 22:09

Just found this good paper from medical research with diagrams of the anal canal:

https://kb.osu.edu/dspace/bitstream/han ... sequence=1

The size is TINY of the area no wonder the dinky little anal glands are a problem. I am wondering if anal glands can be safely removed to avoid future problems? These seem to be the root cause of abscess and fistula problems because when they get clogged up they explode and cause the suffering. Just curious.

Corr.... That's very complicated!
It seems that there are many different glands all with different jobs, I think they all do important things for anal health, therefore it would not be advisable to remove any of them. ( well, that's what I got from it!!!)

Hi I think the glans still do job of sorts don't know what though
But they are a main cause of abscess and fistula '
That's how I got mine anal gland got blocked up during a botox procedure which abcessed which then turned to a fistula'
Good diet exercise' should keep most people on the healthy rd

Its strange I never even knew that us humans even had anal glands like what dogs and cats have! Not sure really what they do since it looks to be left over vestigious organ like the appendix. We cannot mark our territory unless we fart lol. Need to ask my proctologist what they do.
